Pathways 1C – Daily Life:  Mealtime & In the House

Welcome to Online Pathways 1C! By the end of this 12-week course, learners will gain a vocabulary in “daily life” areas of Mealtime and In the House, including everyday phrases for both topic areas.

Prerequisite: Successful completion of Pathways 1B or test out of 1A & 1B.

AttendanceThe Hoocąk Academy Attendance Policy is in place to demonstrate the commitment of the staff and the participants alike.  Regular attendance by the staff will ensure that the Language Learning Session groups meet the goals and objectives of the program.  Regular attendance by the participants will ensure that each participant reaches their personal language learning goals.  Regular attendance will also ensure that language learning continues at a steady pace for the entire language-learning group.

Class Structure: Each week will begin with a “START HERE” video.  This video introduces the module and outlines its objectives. You will gain access to your module at least 5 days before your regular scheduled Zoom session.  For example, if your Zoom class is on Tuesdays, new videos will be released on Thursdays.  This will give you five days to view the module material, take notes, and prepare your 3-2-1 reflections.

Module Structure:  Topic: Importance of Learning the Language

1. START HERE Video: This video will introduce you to the week’s content, including objectives and key topics.

2. Learning Material
Video: 4 min 53 sec, featuring our Division Manager, Ahuginąįga.

Watch and complete a 3-2-1 reflection or fill out a Question & Response form.

Alphabet: Several videos online. Watch the 2 min 21 sec Pathways video and read the Alphabet Chapter in PDF form.

Self-Introduction: Watch the 1 min 23 sec video and complete a 3-2-1 reflection. Submit by 4:30 PM 1 day prior to your Zoom session.

Total Time: 30 to 60 minutes to complete.

3. Supplemental Material:
Each week may also feature a new instructional video.

Instructors may provide adddional readings relevant to the course.

4. Zoom Sessions:  Students meet on Zoom once per week.
This is an opportunity for students to ask questions about their work.
Teachers will plan formative assessment activities (Quizlet, Wordwall, Kahoot, breakout rooms, etc.) to practice the language.
End of session: Introduction to trhe following weeks activities.
